Experience a new perspective on art through these presentations and conversation series by Phoenix Art Museum Docents.
Our journey begins in the 1890’s as we take a brief look at women and how they were perceived. We travel in time to the beginning of the 20thCentury and consider the global cultural changes and events that drove some designers to create a wardrobe for this new “Modern Woman.” This woman had specific needs and desires for her attire. You will meet four designers that addressed the changing fashion of the time: Jeanne Paquin, the Callot Soeurs, Madeleine Vionnet, and Jeanne Lanvin, each with their own special connection to the fashion industry.
Presented by Docent JoAnn Stultz.
