Clissene Lewis is a tribal member of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation and will provide a presentation on “The Yavapai Journey” that will focus on learning about the history and culture of her Yavapai People with an emphasis on the Fort McDowell Indian Community. The Yavapai People have had a long arduous journey and have overcome many obstacles over the years. This presentation is an opportunity to dialogue with other communities, to bring an awareness of a broken past, and to share the unique government to government relationship between Indian Tribes and the U.S Government; it will help foster and strengthen our future generations.
