(ages 12-18 / 60 min) Girls in grades 6th-12th are invited to join the library’s first Girls Who Code Club.

Learn computer science skills, gain confidence, and make new friends in this 10-week course. Registrants are expected to attend all ten weeks.

For further inspiration, check out the books:

Girls Who Code by Reshma Saujani. It introduces the relevance of coding and shares down-to-earth explanations about coding principles and real-life stories of women programmers who work at such places as Pixar and NASA.

So You Want to be a Coder by Jane Bedell. It debugs the secrets behind a career in the diverse and state-of-the-art industry of working with computer code. In addition to tips and interviews from professionals in the industry, it also includes inspiring stories.
