The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy is offering a free native grass plant (purple threeawn) as a replacement if you show us a photo of your dug up fountain grass. Look for stewards outside the library.
Fountain grass is a plant commonly used in ornamental landscaping, but it is also an invasive species that has invaded natural desert areas. If you have fountain grass in your yard, you can help reduce the spread of its seeds by removing the plant, including its root system, and then disposing of it. The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy is offering a free native grass plant (purple threeawn) as a replacement if you show us a photo of your dug up fountain grass. Look for Conservancy stewards in front of Mustang Library between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to participate (while supplies last)!
