John LaPorte
Hello, I'm John R. LaPorte; (AKA J.R.) Coffee House Crooner, Bar Room Bard, Tea Room Troubadour, Wine Bar Balladeer, and Meal-Time Minstrel. Retired 20-year Airforce veteran and a self-accompanied vocalist performing a solo acoustic fare presenting an eclectic easy listening mix of folk/folk-rock/pop/soft rock selections from the 50's, 60's, and 70's in the singer-songwriter styles of Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Diamond etc... I create a minimally invasive, easy listening atmosphere, while maintaining sound levels conducive to holding polite conversation. You might not even notice I'm there: but you would miss me if I were gone.
Danthemusician
Through out all the challenges in my life I've always maintained my fierce love and appreciation for musical performances. I was first struck by the sound of my mother's beautiful voice as she sang while completing various household tasks or driving us to the dentist. My musical stylings range from smooth jazz to funky folk music. I just call it jazz beat. Now I'm pursuing music in earnest. I hope you enjoy the show.
