Join us the first Wednesday evening of every month (with exception of January 2025) for acoustic music performed by local musicians. Bring the family and enjoy the show!
Act one: Jack Alves bio
Jack Alves, a Long Island native, was shaped by the vibrant 1950s-60s rock and roll scene, influenced by AM radio legends and iconic artists like The Beatles, The Four Seasons, and Jimi Hendrix. Moving to Arizona in 1968, he embraced the psychedelic movement and later transitioned to acoustic guitar after being inspired by musicians like Leo Kottke and Taj Mahal. A skilled performer and teacher, Alves developed a unique flat-picking style out of necessity and has spent over 25 years teaching guitar in Scottsdale, encouraging students to explore music's rich history. He has opened for notable artists such as Willie Nelson, Leon Redbone, Tracy Chapman, and Jay Leno, and had the honor of performing the National Anthem for President Gerald Ford. Alves continues to perform, compose, and teach with a passion for personalized, meaningful musical experiences.
Act Two: Harry Kaminsky bio
Harry Kaminsky began writing songs in 1970, performing his original music with guitar accompaniment in clubs and cafes across New York City throughout the 1970s. After moving to Phoenix, he set aside his guitar to focus on a career and raising a family. Now, forty years later, Kaminsky is back, performing his old songs, new compositions, and a selection of favorites from other artists. You can catch his performances at Open Mic Nights throughout the Valley and at the Theatre Artists Studio.
