McDowell Sonoran Conservancy / PastFinders
The McDowell Sonoran Preserve - covering over 30,000 acres - can be described as the ‘crown jewel’ of Scottsdale. Residents and visitors alike may take it for granted, but it is the result of a hard fought, two decades long citizen campaign. The creation of the Preserve and Conservancy is a dramatic story of how local community leaders, elected representatives and city staff joined together to establish this Valley destination and treasure.
The panel will feature former Mayor Sam Campana along with community leader and Conservancy pioneer, Christine Kovach.
