Art and Poetry in Celebration of Women's History month

In 2024, there is much to celebrate regarding women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. Those achievements were made possible by the determined efforts of past generations of brave and groundbreaking women. They were women of consequence. They were women, some famous, some lost to recorded history, who moved forward into the future by their inspired imaginations, despite numerous obstacles placed in their way. With hope and renewal, they were resolute that a future such as the ones we now celebrate could be possible. As such, these poems and art works celebrate our debt to those brave women. These works also celebrate future women of consequence. We celebrate that same inspired hope for future generations of strong and determined women. These poems and art works celebrate all that was, and all that could be.

Lois Roma-Deeley’s poetry collections include Like Water in the Palm of My Hand, The Short List of Certainties, High Notes, northSight. Rules of Hunger. She’s published in numerous poetry anthologies and journals. Roma-Deeley is Associate Poetry Editor of international poetry journal Presence. She serves as Poet Laureate of Scottsdale, Arizona. www.loisroma-deeley.com
